The Cookson and Andrewson Families

These are the last two starting families, I've made for Brookdale. After this we will start to see them live out there lives, watching this small community grow into a thriving town.

Meet the Cookson family. I did not make the adults in CAS, they were downloaded from simsurbania and slightly modified. The children however, were genetically made with the adults DNA. I will introduce them in the order they were made.

First is Josh Denzel Cookson. Born in the fall season and is currently 29 years old. His traits are brave, protective, loyal, amusing and giving.His primary aspiration is fortune and his second is family. 

Second is Alana Jeanne Cookson. She is the wife of Josh Cookson. She was born in the winter season and is currently 30 years old. Her traits are impatient, blunt, confident, perfectionist, and skeptic. Her primary aspiration is fortune as well and and her secondary aspiration is family.

Third is Katrina Janele Cookson. Born in the summer season, she is currently 7 years old. Her traits are clever, loving, energetic, honest, and impatient.

Last of the Cookson clan is Sunday Rosanne Cookson. She was born in the spring season and is currently 5 years old. Her traits are  Virtuous, neat, shy, goofy, and selfish. 

There is not much background story for this family so their beginning starts with there move into Brookdale.  

Here is the last starting family of Brookdale. Meet the Andrewsons.  

First up is Linette Kimbra Andrewson. She was born in the Spring season, she is currently 60 years old and a single mother of a 23 year old son. Her traits are sensitive, kind, smart, energetic, and brillant. 

Her son was the result of a one night stand long ago. She has never been able to locate the father of her child and had to raise him all on her own.

Here is Linette's son Russel Lewis Andrewson. He was born in the spring season and is currently 23 years old. His traits are passionate, energetic, selfish, patient, smart. 

* This was way overdue, but I'm glad I finally got it posted. Now I can begin the sims lives in Brookdale 2.0. I still need to do profiles for each of these sims and I will get to those eventually. Thanks for reading!!

The Massey Family

Sorry for the long absence, I was in the hospital and now I'm in the recovery stage. So updates won't be coming as fast as I'd like them to be but will do them whenever I can.


Here is the third family I made; The Massey family.

On the left we have Khloe Massey, and on the right is Lynsey Massey. They are half sisters sharing the same father. Khloe lived with her mom, and Lynsey lived with her dad after he left Khloe's mother shortly after she was born.

Khloe never really knew her father but her mother never spoke bad of him despite him leaving her. When Khloe reached the age of 18 she was happy to be an adult, but it would be bittersweet because her mother passed away a day after her 18th birthday party. Khloe inherited her mother's house and vowed to take good care of it. Some of Khloe's traits are perfectionist, careful, and loving. She is a knowledge/family sim with the lifetime want to be a Media Magnate.

Khloe took the death of her mother really hard to the point where she couldn't bare going off to college. She stayed in her mother's house contently alone working odd jobs until she was 25. She got a call from a lawyer telling that the father she barely even known had passed away and that in his will he wanted her to take care and look after his daughter Lynsey. Khloe accepted wanting to have some family with her after all these years. What she didn't know was that Lynsey is 22 years old with the mindset of a 16 year old.

Lynsey lived with her father since the age of 5 when her mother passed away of cancer. She would be daddy's little girl until grim reaper came to get him when she was 22. Lynsey thought she had no more family left, and was unsure what she would do. The lawyer gave her some good news telling her that she did indeed have family, a half sister. It was her father's last wishes that they unite and live together looking after each other. Lynsey agreed, but only because she had no way to pay all the debt her dad collected in their house.

Lynsey is a romance/pleasure sim with the lifetime want to become a Hall of Famer. Some of her traits are flirty, sarcastic and careless. Since she was daddy's little girl she had her way all the time, was spoiled, and didn't care about nobody else but herself.

Khloe on the other hand was raised to be caring for everyone, do things the right way the first time, and to always act like a lady.

It will be interesting to see how well these two young ladies will get along.

The Sanders-Rowland Family

Here is the next family I made for Brookdale, and is also in my blog picture title above. Meet the Sanders-Rowland family.

This is Kenith Ken Sanders. He is 65 years old, born in the winter season. He is currently married to his second wife. He has one daughter from his first wife (that i never created).  Some of his traits are honest, amusing, and passionate. He raised his daughter by himself after the "mysterious disappearance" of his first wife all the way into adulthood unscathed. Maybe it was the fact that he is a family sim. His lifetime want is to marry off 6 children. Sadly that won't come to pass. 

Here is Kenith's wife Lila Rowanne Sanders. She is 49 years old, born in the spring season. In CAS it was not an option to link Lila to Kenith as his spouse, so I had to go in Simpe and edit the relationship and even add some memories to them both. Some of her traits are passionate, driven, amusing and oversexed (more like gutter brained). Hope Kenith can keep up with her.  Not only did her and Kenith's common traits bring them together, but also Lila's infatuation in men with grey hair. She's a family sim and her lifetime wish is also to marry off 6 children. In her age, that won't be possible.

This is Sharyl Jayna Rowland, maiden name Sanders. Kenith welcomed his daughter at the ripe age of 43, she is 22 years old born in the winter season. Sharyl inherited her father's honest trait and also pick up energetic, hard worker and observant. She is a fortune sime with the lifetime want to become chief of staff. She will need to go back to college to attain that goal, which is doable with the adult education option. Sharyl is a little skeptic about her fathers new wife, and with her observant trait; she keeps a close eye on her to make sure she doesn't hurt her father. She insisted that her father and new bride pool together their funds along with her and her newlywed and get a house together.

Lastly we have Sharyl's husband, Edward (Ed) Lon Rowland. He is 25 years old, born in the summer season. The only trait that Sharyl and Edward have in common is the energetic trait, some of his others are fearful, believer and private. Opposites attract right? I don't have to tell you how wears the pants in this relationship but Edward doesn't mind. Edward is in love with Sharyl's take charge attitude and Sharyl adores Edward's mousy behavior. Kenith on the other hand was not to keen at first that his daughter married such a man but he gets his amusement daily. Edward is a family sim with the lifetime want to marry off 6 children (3 in a row whats up with that??).

The Saylor Family

My last attempt at my sims neighborhood didn't go so well. Also with the last one, I put a lot of pre-blogging work into it. So this time I will be blogging as I set up and play and hope I have more luck this time.

I just made two out of the five starting families that will reside in Brookdale. Today I will show you the Saylor family. I enjoyed making them and giving them distinct personalities.



This young married couple actually didn't plan on becoming so family oriented so soon. With the birth of their daughter here, they decided to try and do the right thing and raise their family in the traditional manner by tying the knot.

This is Darell Lynton Saylor. He is 28 years old, born in the Spring season. He is quite immature, so he has his childish ways but he calls it being "young at heart". His first aspiration is fortune, and popularity is his second. So he is a little greedy for money and attention. 

This is Elvina "Bre" Breann Saylor. She is 25 years old, born also in the Spring season. Her first aspiration is family and her second is fortune. Although Darell and Bre share the fortune aspiration, each has different views when it comes to money. Bre is very mature but very stubborn. When she became pregnant with their daughter, she insisted that Darell be in their lives and wouldn't have it any other way. To her surprise she didn't have to put up much of a fight with Darell, as he seemed to adore his new daughter and has been their for them since. If only she could get him to grow up some more...

Here is their daughter Stacy "Stace" Augustine Saylor. She seems to have inherited everything from her mother Bre, even her stubborn personality. She is 4 years old, born in the summer season. 

* And there you have the first family of Brookdale 2.0. I will be starting in the year 2000 this time, so thats approx. 10 years from the disaster of the first Brookdale that wiped out all its residents.
* I did something a little different this time in making my starting families. I assigned my sims different character traits, borrowed from Laura at Lakeside Heights . I also used Hook's RandomStuff program and made my own text file to randomize things like favorite color, season of birth, height, eye color, and starting ages in all age groups. To come up with little Stacy's personality I used Carla from Sullivan personality point rules to assign her points.

Brookdale will live again

I was sad at first that I couldn't revive Brookdale after all the initial set up I have done with that town to start blogging on it. After losing it I wasn't too sure at first about starting another blog on a new town. But today after looking at Apple Valley's Behind the Scenes blog, I was inspired to try again. Thank you Apple Valley for the recognition.

After reading it, I felt so ashamed that I had lost Brookdale and that I was hesitant to start again. Apple Valley's follower series post gave me that push to want to blog again very soon. Thank you all who have read it this far and are still followers of this blog, it will not be in vain. Brookdale will live again....

Before it begin

I went home yesterday to see if I kept a backup copy of my neighborhood somewhere, and I don't. So it looks like it's the end of Brookdale before it even began. I've started a new neighborhood but not sure If I'm going to blog this one yet. 


One plus is that I like this neighborhood better and I've set it up quicker. This time I have 5 rather small families. I'm playing this neighborhood in the old prosperity style where I play each family for 5 days and they age each day for now. So once my neighborhood starts to grow more, I'll see if I'm up to blogging it and playing it how I wanted to play Brookdale. What do you think????


I even named this neighborhood Brookdale as well but I think I'm going to change it to something else because I don't want to jinks this neighborhood. LOL


Thanks to Blackcat for giving me the advice about extracting my sims. Had I kept the back up of my neighborhood I would have been able to revive Brookdale.

So Sorry

It is with great pain and devastation that I will not be able to continue Brookdale, even though It was just getting started. I lost everything in my game and had to keep reinstalling my sims game. I spent hours upon hours trying to get this neighborhood just right for this blog and now its all gone. 


What gets me the most is that I never got to enjoy playing it and spent most of my time in setup mode, downloading things, getting my notes together, etc. 


Before losing everything I've tried over and over to restore my neighborhood but with no luck. So for the ones who were looking forward to this neighborhood I want to apologize, and apologize over again for getting peoples hopes up, to then bring you this news.


I'm not sure when I'll try to do another neighborhood blog again. Despite how many posts I have on this blog; I have spent so many hours on this neighborhood and now it's gone to waste. So I think for right now I will just enjoy my sims game and start a new neighborhood and still play the prosperity style just not sure if I will blog it or not.
